I had the great honor of speaking with the legend, Mr. George Benson recently, and he was as gracious as they come. George has a new album out, Walking to New Orleans, which pays tribute to the great Chuck Berry and Fats Domino's music. The album is amazing, so make sure you pick it up! We discussed the new music, his early years, and his ability to excel in so many genres. Such an honor to talk to this man! I once asked the great Les Paul who he thought THE top guitar player was. His answer: "when all is said and done, you can't beat George Benson." Thank you for a great interview George. Thanks for all of the amazing music and inspiration through the years, and thanks for showing the world what a true gentlemen of music is.
I had the pleasure of speaking with the great Mindi Abair recently. We talked about her career, her early years, and her new album, No Good Deed with her band, The Boneshakers.
She is a two-time Grammy Nominee, spent two seasons on the hit series American Idol, and toured with Aerosmith as their saxophone player. The list of artists Abair has toured with and/or recorded with proves where she stands: Aerosmith, Gregg Allman, Smokey Robinson, Keb' Mo', Joe Perry, Teena Marie, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Joe Bonamassa, Booker T. Jones, Jimmy Webb, The Ides of March and countless others have recorded with or shared the stage with Mindi. Check out her fantastic releases, which include her amazing solo album Wild Heart, with The Boneshakers: Live in Seattle and the EastWest Sessions. On June 28, 2019, Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers will release their phenomenal new album No Good Deed. The album is a classic mix of rock and roll, blues, jazz and soul that can only be described as Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers! Pick it up today!
Mindi is as great as they come and we had a great time talking! Thanks Mindi!
So great to speak with Jason Slim Gambill recently! Slim holds down the guitar chair with the multi platinum Lady Antebellum, but he also has a whole other side which features a huge dose of blues and jazz chops! We hooked up in Chicago, right after Lady A's sold out show at Ravinia and discussed his new album, Fake Jazz & Theme Songs, and talked about his amazing career. Slim's a super down to Earth guy, with a great love for family, music and guitars. Thanks for a great interview Slim!
